About Me

I’m a wife, a mom, and someone who spends a lot of her time balancing real life with everything that comes with it.

I’ve been married to a police officer for over two decades, serving in a mid-sized, high-crime city. That alone shapes a lot of how I see the world—there’s a constant awareness, a quiet pride, and at times, a weight that comes with loving someone in that line of work.

I’m also a mom to three (now adult) kids. My oldest son is serving in the Navy, my middle daughter is in college studying Art History with hopes of going into museum curation and art restoration, and my youngest daughter is still at home, working in IT and figuring out her own path forward. Watching them grow into who they are has been one of the most humbling and rewarding parts of my life.

These days, I’m still learning what it looks like to be a mom to adults—which, if I’m honest, is part of the reason this blog exists in the first place.

Professionally, I work full-time as a department manager in contract and third-party agreement management, with a focus on software licensing. I usually describe it as being “IT-adjacent”—close enough to understand the systems and strategy, but rooted in governance, structure, and making sure things are done right. I lead a team of 18 associates, including 2 supervisors, and spend my days balancing people, process, and problem-solving.

Outside of work, I’ve found that I really do enjoy a quieter life. I’m learning to make more food at home, and I love spending time on my crafts—mostly crochet, knitting, and paint-by-number right now, though I’m working on learning how to sew. I love to walk and hike, and being outside in general feels like a blessing.

I’m a warm-weather person through and through and absolutely hate being cold—but at the same time, I know I’d miss the snow if it were gone.

My faith is a central part of who I am. I’ve been a Christian for 27 years and was received into the Orthodox Church in 2020. You’ll usually find me in the choir as a soprano, participating in the services in a way that feels both grounding and deeply meaningful.

This blog is part of my journey from “mommy” to mom—learning who I am in this next stage of life, and sharing my perspective on the world through the lens of my faith.
